OXID eShop extension: Cookie Consent Manager

This extension provides your customers the information of which cookies are used by your shop and lets them decide if they allow specific cookies to be set or not.

The Cookie Consent Manager offers you the possibility to use a methodical switch in your OXID eShop sourcecode, which checks if permission for code execution on enclosed code is granted by the user or not.

Add cookie datasets in OXID eShop administration

Navigate within OXID eShop Administration to the following menu:

„Netensio Software“ → „Cookie Manager“ → „Cookie Manager“

Within the following view you have the possibility to manage cookie datasets that will be displayed in cookie consent popup settings window.

The administration view provides you the following input fields

Active:
Activate / deactivate cookie dataset in cookie consent popup

Cookie ID:
ID of Cookie. Used by the cookie consent switch.

Cookie name:
Name of cookie. Used in the settings area of the cookie consent popup. Labels a cookie selection in cookie consent popup.

Cookie category:
Categorize your cookie dataset out of the following three categories.

  1. Functional
Functional cookies collect data of functions from a website like usage statistics or performance data. Functional cookies may be accepted by the user or not, so they are not neccessarily needed to run the software.

  2. Marketing
Marketing cookies are used to target marketing campaigns or adds to a specific user. They are mostly third party cookies and can be accepted or not by the user. Marketing cookies are not neccessarily needed to run the software.

  3. Essential
Essential cookies are neccessary for the shop software to function properly. The user cannot disagree on setting them.

Sort:
Sort your cookie datasets within their assigned cookie category.

Activation of the cookie consent popup window within OXID eShop frontend

To activate the cookie consent popup window in your OXID eShop installation, you have to switch on the standard OXID eShop cookie notice in your shop settings:
„Customers have to confirm the usage of cookies“

Usage of the cookie switch method in your OXID eShop template

If your shop has some cookie setting code lines you want to have control over by the switch, you need to surround it with the switch if condition as described in the example below:

Example code without switch:
Imagine this code line would setup a cookie and you want to have control over this behaviour with the cookie switch.

Example code with switch integration:
Imagine you have setup a cookie dataset with the cookie ID „beispiel“ and you want to execute the above example line only if the user accepted the cookie "beispiel" in the consent popup.
