OXID eShop Module: Google Index Control

The extension offers you the possibility to specifically exclude certain products and categories of your OXID eShop from being included in the Google Index. This is useful to prevent similar products from being placed in the search index again and again.

In this way, the positioning of the indexed products and categories is strengthened and you avoid competing search results within your shop.

Always make sure to reduce competing content within your website, as this can improve the user experience and help your indexed products and categories rank better in Google's search index. Competing content is content that competes with each other for attention and ranking in search engine results.

By reducing competing content, you can ensure that users searching for specific products or categories within your shop are not distracted by similar but potentially irrelevant results.

Controlling content in the Google Index can be done at category level and item level in the OXID eShop Admin. This means that you can decide whether certain categories or articles should be included in the Google Index or not.

This is a useful feature as it allows you to influence the visibility of your content in search engine results and ensure that only relevant and up-to-date content is found by users.
