OXID eShop Module: Shopping Cart Button Display Control for Product Lists
With this extension for a product list it is possible to hide the "Add to cart" button for individual products. This allows the purchase of these products only via the product detail page. This can be useful to prompt the customer to look at the product in more detail and potentially offer them additional information or upsells.
It can also help to increase the completion rate of purchase transactions, as the customer is forced to look at all aspects of the product before they can buy it. This can ensure that the customer is well informed and does not have any unexpected surprises when they receive the product.
By being able to specify in the shop administration for each individual product whether it can be purchased from a product list, you can determine exactly which products are accessible via which purchase channels. This can be particularly important for items that may be harmful to health and for which it is important to read warnings on the product detail pages.
If the module is activated, it behaves in the frontend like the standard behaviour of the OXID eShop. Only when you activate the checkbox to hide the button in the administration, the button is no longer displayed in the frontend.
This function can be useful to ensure that customers are sufficiently informed about possible risks or warnings for certain products before they buy them. It can also help to ensure that customers make a conscious decision to buy a particular product, rather than possibly adding it to their shopping cart by mistake.
In this way, it is possible to avoid customers being confronted with unexpected risks or problems after they have purchased a product.
