As if it was only yesterday, our team remembers the great cooperation with Hainlin, the official Kyocera online shop. A few years ago, the trading platform was relaunched based on the then fresh OXID Azure template. In the meantime a few years have passed and the ravages of time gnawed at the shop design, the decision to use a responsive template was made. The responsive OXID template was realized with the Bootstrap Grid System and was to be designed close to the previous shop, but significantly modernized.
Why was the decision made to sell OXID responsive & optimized for mobile devices?
The world and its shopping behaviour has changed a lot in the last years. People no longer just call at home on their PC but wherever they are. Whether on the train or in a restaurant, the nimble grip of a tablet or smartphone sometimes brings us closer to our customers than we think.
In the media and for the general public, the surfing behaviour of the younger generations is still met with scepticism. To go against this trend is completely wrong. For younger current and future generations, shopping and paying via mobile devices and mobile internet is part of their standard of living and holds a potential that should not be turned away.
Both from the point of view of user-friendliness for the customer and because of the search result pages optimized for mobile devices introduced by Google, the decision was made to use an OXID responsive template. Our customers and not least Google thank us for this change.
What is the difference between OXID responsive and non-responsive?
Everything is still very new and fresh, in the coming weeks we will get more precise values through statistics, but in the last few days we have seen a significant increase in the number of buyers on mobile devices. This is of course very helpful to us and we are happy that visitors are able to cope with the improved responsive interface.
Especially in the tablet area the shop is easy to use, the shop design adapts automatically to the display depending on the inclination and you have an incredibly great shopping experience. The design of the system is specially adapted to the presentation of kitchen products and displays them in a high-quality way on every end device.
The difference between operating OXID responsive or non-responsive is clearly visible on smartphones. Conventional web pages are shown in a compressed or zoomed format on the very small displays, while OXID responsive makes full use of the display and shows the customer images and text in a readable size without any loss of quality. Most customers have only used our shop on their smartphone for a short time or not at all. The increasing numbers in Google Analytics confirm our decision to use the OXID responsive template.
